These Acacia mangium trees are only 2 years and 8 months old, but already over 8 meters tall and with 20 cm DBH trunks. This year they were producing seeds for us. They are growing in very marginal soil as you can see from the photo, mainly sand. However, because of their nitrogen and carbon fixing in the soil they are a great soil reclamation tree. We plant Acacia mangium every year at La Pedregoza. |
