Presentation

The plantation is situated in the Upper-Matsiatra region, on the malagasy highlands, 12km south-east from the town of Ambalavao, and 470 km south from Antananarivo, the capital. The entrance to the plantation is on the southern outskirts of Ambalavao, and it is on the edge of the protected areas of the Andringitra National Park.

Planting started in early 2011 with three species of trees : the Acacia Mangium (3 Ha), the Grevillia Robusta (3 Ha), and the Eucalyptus Robusta (2 Ha). In total, 12500 trees have been planted.
They have been selected for their rapid growth and adaptability, and for they are used as timber and firewood.
Since november 2011, the project has started its second planting phase, by planting native and medicinal species. The objective is to increase local economy and productivity of the soil.
