The city of Saint Cloud has been getting used to the fact that there is no curb-side recycling. It has been four years since the landfill had been removed, and the replacement drop-off site has been discouraging at most. Recycled materials are ending up in household trash cans instead of facilities that could generate new purposes for them. As some of you may know, it takes 200 to 400 years for plastics to degrade. Aluminum takes hundreds even thousands of years to degrade. For these reasons among many more, all efforts should be made for the city of Saint Cloud to regain curb-side recycling. This could be an opportunity for the whole community to take part and get involved. Not only will the community gain strength in working together, but the environment will see a difference as well. Each person leaves behind an ecological footprint. Reduce your impact on the environment by taking part in this petition. With 13,500 signatures(a little over half of the city's population) this petition will be presented to Tim Hurt, the City Manager of Saint Cloud and Tom Crummy, the Market Area Sales Manager of Waste Management of Central Florida. Stand up for a cause worth fighting for!
