I think it's great-! When I look at it,  the colors of the tree symbolize the changing seasons, the different life/growth stages, or even the many species of trees that exist...
Logo is great, the swirly cloud-like tree forms look fantastic. Not so hot on the typography though; looks clean and slick, but a little dated.

But the actual stylized tree graphic - definitely very cool.

in fact I like the current logo - it "breathes" optimism to me somehow which is always good to have especially when trying to promote a project, reach the projects goal(s) and keeping it going over a long term - of course also wo overcome problems and obstacles which might appear too in the future ... the different colors to me somehow symbolize that people from very different backgrounds come together for this project and try to help to make the desert green by planting trees

these are the thoughts which came to my mind spontaneously when looking at the logo

I'd keep it! :)
