 how many trees are planted each year in Niger? and now?

I really appreciate with this project. I want to know about the progress of this project.

A little update:

we planted the 30.000 trees from the nursery. And so far 40.000 Moringas (4ha).

Hi there!

We usually plant more trees every year in Niger.
Last year we did plant 60.000.
This year we are so far planting 30.000 (from the nursery) and 30.000 Moringas. We should continue planting Moringa for the rest of the year (as it needs irrigation, it doesn't need seasonal planting). Hopefully we reach 10 ha or Moringa which correspond to 100.000 trees.
In total it would mean 130.000 trees for 2010.

The focus on the Moringa this year is to push entrepreneurship and business consciousness within the small land owners who joins our planting programs. With the fast growth and easy revenues this tree provides we try to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship in the region. There is a lot to say on this topic actually. We will release a report just about this a bit later this year ;-)
