Cycas micronesica belongs to cycads (#1 topic in this Tree-Nation Group) and is found in Micronesia (密克羅尼西亞), near Guam (關島). It is distinguished as a separate species in 1990s, and considered endangered by insects (including butterflies) and wild pigs.

Its seeds are one of the few cycad seeds that can float on water. However, the very seed the plant uses to reproduce may cause Lytico-Bodig disease to humans (similar to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 肌肉萎縮性側索硬化症, or ALS).

To conserve it, genomic tool such as microsatellite markers (short genetic sequences) for identifying plant family line is used.
