| The use of electric vehicles is a trend. But i want just to say that in some place it is not available in recent years. Not only in technology but also in costs come companies don't product these cars. I knew the electric car about 3 years ago. The car was from the Toyota. It was not successful. But i only hope we can use the clean power like the electric. | |

(en) The main concern about electric cars is the energetic ratio (how much of the original energy is converted to speed, and how much is lost as heat). About this, electric cars are much better than petrol cars. So, I think that there would be a little advantage to use electric cars, even with "polluting" electricity. |

| Emmita, I think that electric cars will become more advanced when petrol companies want... sad but true :( | |

| Electric cars really are starting to become quite good and with high performance - not strictly true what has been said above. In any case, my question was this: If you charge you electric car at home - use electricity from the house - how is this electricity generated? And is it better for the environment generally? | |

| Unless of course you live in a big city and only ever experience rush hour!! | |

| I had no idea that the cars run on two engines - one electric, one petrol. So they're very practical in areas where you don't reach more that 60km an hour (like Barcelona in rush hour for example!) but they're not that practical for going anywhere that demands more speed. I say walk or ride a bike! at least for the moment until the technology behind electric cars becomes more advanced... | |

| I think the hybrids have two engines, one for gasoline and another one purely electric. When the car's speed is above 60Km/h, the gasoline engine starts and charges the electric's engine battery. Just my two cents :) | |

| OK, finally some car companies are producing successful hybrids. But is it actually more beneficial for the environment. How is the electircity they use created? | |
