I am considering running my car on recyled vegetable oil. Apparently this is the best way to run a vehicle as it saves on land fill usage (most old vegetable oil was dumped) and is carbon neutral. The car usually does not need many, if any modifications, as long as it is a diesel. It does however need more maintainence i.e. fuel filters need to be changed more often. What do you think?

My 2 cents to this discussion:

1st - vegetable oil works, but should be checked carefully with regard to sustainability of your vehicle -
it helps only, if the vehicle is able to run effectively anf not damaged, otherwise repair or replacement would
outweigh the advantage. What about the actual exhaust being generated? If the combustion is well controlled,
then vegetable oil is OK. If not, then please check first - measure it!

2nd - regardless of the fuel: the single biggest potential is to use less fuel - i.e. driving less, driving moderate to
reduce consumption, car sharing to improve overall weight vs. payload.

Hi everyone, i am Melody and i work in a fish and chip shop.  We save all our old oil for a man that uses it to run his trucks.  Apparently it has to have additives ?? but it's suppose to work really well.
  Guys check this out!!

Bio fuel not only will reduce our emissions but would lower our reliance on oil!!

We should all consider this idea!
