love this as I chosed this wood to be one of
my favoured ones for a mixed native hedge
along with birch, rowan, willow, alder, poplar,
hawthorn and roses roses rosesx

An Alder suits me fine, and i am surrounded by them here in Washington State...they grow literally everywhere, and are the favorite of the First Nations peoples and residents for many things, including smoking the famous Pacific Northwest Salmon :-)
 Oak  !! maybe also a running oak like Seed-and-grow .... :)
Hello - a typical Rowan here ... although when I looked up the gemstone, Wikipedia puts Peridot in August.  Hmmm
Here  I'm a willow, but on the Spanish website I'm a poplar. =P

I just learned being an oak. Maybe I'm one of these running oaks - you'll never know.

'Gnarled thorny little tree' yup just about sums me up. LOL
