" Rainforest tours are a spectacular way to get close to all of the exotic plants and animals, and experience a totally different way of life. There is a whole range of ways to enjoy the forests; some tour companies have spas with four-star meals served in private suites, while some offer jungle survival classes and underground river rafting!

Eco Tourism, and especially rainforest tours, are one of the very best hopes for the survival of the rainforests. Many of the most biologically important places on the planet are being wiped out by the short-term needs of the some of the people living there. If they can make more money from rainforest tours than rainforest lumber, there is a chance that the forests will survive."

I would love to go! Who is willing to sub for me? I get to go to the rainforest, and you get 120 8th graders. Just kidding, of course, but it would be extremely fun to go. :-)
Greetings!
At La Pedregoza we offer a combination of eco-tourism with adventure tourism. Eco-tourism is really more than just travel, it is education. Eco-tourism has many sub-areas, such as agro-tourism, forestry-tourism and eco-nomic tourism. It involves not just seeing the monkeys or the turtles or the jungle, but also knowing that one's travel supports local economies, so that there is no or reduced pressure on cutting down the rain forest or performing bad agricultural habits. I have always believed that income from one tourist is worth way more than the income from chopping down an acre of rain forest to plant a subsistence crop.
